Max Session Duration

Control how long users in a role can keep their IP whitelisted by setting a maximum session duration.

Tier Limits

Session duration is capped by your subscription tier:

Setting Max Duration on a Role

You can set a max session duration when creating or editing a role. This limits how long users assigned to that role can keep their sessions active.

For example, setting a role's max duration to 4 hours means users in that role can select at most a 4-hour session and can only extend up to 4 hours total.

tip

If you don't set a max duration on a role, the tier limit applies by default.

Multiple Roles

If a user belongs to multiple roles with different max durations, the most permissive (longest) duration applies.

Example: Alice has two roles:

  • Role A: Max 2 hours
  • Role B: Max 8 hours

Alice can start sessions up to 8 hours long, because Role B allows it.
